Kevin Westerlund has traveled extensively throughout the Western United States since the early 1990s. Through his photography, he attempts to share his love of nature, his commitment to preservation and his unique vision of the world.

Kevin’s interest in photography began when he was in college, where he earned a degree in mathematics. Soon after graduation, photography played a less important role in his life, as he pursued a career in mathematics and technology. After spending far too many years exercising the left side of his brain, Kevin decided that he needed an artistic endeavor that would allow him to explore his brain’s right hemisphere. He returned to photography to meet this need. He has discovered that his analytical approach to photography enables him to create photographs that find simplicity within complexity and order within chaos.

Kevin’s photographs have appeared in national publications and are in private collections world-wide. He currently lives in Marin County, California.
